As part of our programme of further investment and growth, we have moved our commercial and plant operation to a new high tech office and maintenance facility. It is ideally located off junction 4A of the M8, near Whitburn. Our new offices were officially opened with a series of events including a staff presentation.
NEW TEAM STRUCTURE ANNOUNCED
We also confirmed the company’s new management structure. Kevin Mackenzie has been promoted to Managing Director. Founder Peter Nicholas becomes Chairman of the operation that he set up in 1998.
Chairman, Peter Nicholas said: “This is an extremely exciting period for GDL as the company continues the evolution of our vision to be market leaders within Stabilisation, Earthworks and Ground Improvement sectors.
“We’ve always aspired to be market leaders. Our operation has grown to become one of the UK’s leading specialist ground engineering businesses. We offer not only earthworks and stabilisation, but a range of ground improvement techniques which includes GDL’s Turbojet DSM. In addition to our new piling division that is headed up by industry expert Stuart Cain.
“We’ve always aimed to employ the best people. We invest heavily in plant and machinery. And we tap into the wealth of technical expertise that we have in our team to provide innovation along the way.
“We’ve worked closely with the NHBC to have our stabilisation techniques under house foundations accepted by them. We’re now the market leaders in soil stabilisation in the UK. Plus we’re the only company in the UK to offer Turbojet DSM.
“I’m confident that our move to our new office and maintenance facility will provide the perfect base for future innovation as our business continues to move forward.”
BIGGER AND BETTER SPACE TO GROW
The new 30,000 sq ft space provides bigger and better offices. It also has space to maintain and store GDL’s ever-increasing fleet of plant machinery.
Kevin Mackenzie, Managing Director explains: “Our new facility gives our team easy access to our clients’ ground improvement projects across the UK. It signals our further investment and growth for the business.
“This year this has included the expansion of our piling division. And significant investment in key plant machinery in order to give us one of the best capabilities in our sector.
“As our business continues to grow, we’re constantly looking at ways in which we can deliver more for our clients and their projects. Our new offices and maintenance facility will help us to provide the support that our teams need to undertake larger enabling works contracts. They can also make use of our full range of services in order to create innovative and cost-efficient solutions for our clients.”
