Ground Developments have begun work on five new contracts which continue to showcase our expertise in delivering complex ground engineering projects. The team’s success in winning work comes at a time where we continue to invest in plant machinery and their team.
The latest impressive line-up of contract wins includes:
This set of project wins is the perfect showcase of the portfolio of ground improvement techniques that we offer our clients. Kevin Mackenzie, Managing Director adds: “Our most recent contract wins are a great reflection of the diversity and flexibility of our approach. They also show our ability to value engineer our client’s projects by combining our expertise and techniques to deliver real project efficiencies such as reduced truck movements, along with the effective use of site-won materials which are important for both our green credentials and those of our clients.”
We have pioneered the use of soil modification techniques for use under new-build housing in Scotland over the last ten years. As the market leaders in this sector, our success in securing technical approval for this approach positions us as the contractor of choice for many of Scotland’s major developers. With two more projects underway in Winchburgh and Larkhall to deliver around 130 new homes, this technique is also proving successful for use as part of key infrastructure projects such as the A726/Greenhills Road, and our expertise continues to be highly sought-after by a range of clients across the UK.
Our integrated approach to ground improvement and earthworks makes our business unique in the industry as Kevin adds: “We are the only company in Scotland that has the resources and expertise to provide a range of ground engineering techniques, indeed we are one of only a couple of companies with this expertise in the UK.
“We’re constantly looking at ways in which we can deliver innovative ground improvement, and our experience over the years has allowed us to work directly with manufacturers such as Wirtgen and Hydrema to create our own bespoke and preferred spreading solution.
“As environmental regulations continue to swing in our favour, forcing greater consideration to be given to the maximum re-use of material on-site, we envisage that soil stabilisation will be a mainstream consideration for any UK earthworks project.”
With over 20 years’ experience, GDL one of the largest providers of soil stabilisation services in the UK. The company provides technical solutions for challenging sites, often utilising the soil stabilisation technique in conjunction with other ground engineering solutions that it offers such as deep soil mixing, vibro compaction and piling.
