WE’RE ON THE RIGHT ROAD IN DUNFERMLINE

We are working on the construction of a section of road.  It is being installed as part of Taylor Wimpey East Scotland’s Masterton development of new homes in Dunfermline.

We have worked with the client and their designers for the project in order to gain approval from the local authorities for a system that would meet all requirements.

There is a burn flowing through the middle of the site.  Therefore, we have also worked closely with SEPA to deliver a system that is approved by them to deal with silt run-off.

A key part of the project has been to create a system that complements its environment to ensure the project does not stand out.

Wayne Barr, Projects Director comments: “We’ve really considered the aesthetics of this project.  As well as the installation of the mini piles and a culvert structure, we’ve also installed a green slope as part of the retaining system.  This will allow the construction of a standard road make-up to join the east and west developments on McDonald Road in Dunfermline.  It will also make sure that it doesn’t look out of place.”

Works on-site started in October 2015.  The installation of the green slope retaining system is now under construction.  This will, therefore, bring the final levels to the underside of the road formation.  We anticipate that works will be complete in November.
