Our technical expertise goes global

Julius Newman, our Technical Director, was recently asked to present at Trimble Dimensions 2016 User Conference in Las Vegas.

A GLOBAL AUDIENCE

With over 4,000 delegates from 81 countries, presenting at the conference was a great opportunity to showcase our expertise to a worldwide audience.  The three day conference covered on-site and off-site learning, collaboration, networking and product releases for civil, geotechnical and agricultural sectors.

Julius adds, “Having a key session at the conference allowed me to present GDL’s innovative use of Trimble’s Grade Control System (GCS), and how we’ve comprehensively developed office-to-field processes.  The technology that’s now available and the systems that have been created are fundamental to our continued success and growth.

“We always work closely with our suppliers, such as Trimble, to optimise efficiencies in our workflows.  We believe it provides the added benefit of product development through user feedback.  We see this type of relationship with our suppliers as an important step to deliver better solutions going forward.”

During the conference presentation, Julius was able to showcase how GDL has been able to optimise hardware and software solutions to make a positive impact on our own ground engineering projects that include; deep soil mixing, bulk earthworks, civils, piling and soil modification.

Trimble has previously featured GDL’s use of its Grade Control (GCS) and software solutions in an article on the Cowdenbeath Wetlands project – which can be found here.
