We are shortlisted for national ground engineering award

We are delighted to confirm that we have been shortlisted in the Contractor of the Year category of the coveted UK Ground Engineering Awards this year.

The awards celebrate the very best in geotechnical engineering and brings together the leaders in the industry to recognise its achievements. Being shortlisted for such a prestigious national award is the perfect showcase of the portfolio of ground improvement techniques and the approach that we offer our clients.

Kevin Mackenzie, Managing Director adds: “We are really delighted to have made the shortlist in such a competitive set of awards and category. Our approach allows us to work together with our clients and their staff to create one highly effective team that works closely together to deliver the aspirations of their projects.

“It is also a great reflection of the diversity and flexibility of our approach which means we can value engineer client’s projects by combining our expertise and techniques from a very early stage in the development process.  This allows us to engineer and design the optimum design solution for a development of new homes, which allows us to deliver real project efficiencies in terms of cost savings, environmental benefits and certainty that we can get the job done.”

GDL provides its clients with a range of integrated site-enabling solutions using a wide variety of ground engineering techniques which includes earthworks, soil modification, and deep soil mixing.

Their integrated approach to ground improvement and earthworks is what makes GDL unique in the industry as Kevin adds: “We are the only company in Scotland that has the resources and expertise to provide a range of ground engineering techniques, indeed we are one of only a couple of companies with this expertise in the UK.  Making the shortlist of the Ground Engineering Awards is a great achievement and the team is looking forward to the next steps of the judging process and the awards event in London in June this year.”
