We have added new specialist plant machinery for soil stabilisation to our existing impressive fleet, marking our long association with key manufacturers the Wirtgen Group, Streumaster and Hydrema.

The introduction of some of the latest models, which will offer the best production outputs, adds to one of the largest plant machinery fleets in the UK.  Our commitment and further investment in the latest technology signals more growth for our business.

The introduction of the new Wirtgen WR240i stabilisation mixer with an integrated binder spreader from Streumaster, which is mounted on a customised Hydrema chassis to our existing fleet allows us to offer increased and significant capacity within the soil stabilisation market.

Following many years of experience, the Hydrema spreader design is the direct result of extensive collaboration between ourselves and the manufacturer to create a bespoke solution for the company that is suited to its application.

Our team also has a long association with the Wirtgen Group having operated their stabilisation mixers, spreaders and rollers for over a decade. As recognised leaders in their respective fields, the companies have also worked in partnership to advance the use of soil stabilisation techniques in the UK.

Richard Allsopp, Operations Director for Wirtgen Ltd, adds: “Working together with the team at GDL allows us to focus on their experience in order to develop machines that deliver their technical knowledge and expertise on the ground in live projects for their clients.  Our collaboration gives us a competitive edge and is driving the successful use of soil stabilisation techniques on a wide range of projects in the UK.”

This latest investment in plant machinery will help GDL to maximise the capabilities of its current and extensive in-house fleet of plant, and it will enable the company to fulfil a range of new and existing contracts as Kevin Mackenzie, Managing Director  adds: “As we look ahead to major infrastructure projects such as HS2, we  need to ensure that we can provide the most up-to-date modern plant in order to effectively manage the requirements of these types of complex strategic projects.  This includes new machines that can maximise our capacity while featuring the latest safety features such as 360°-degree cameras and hi visibility handrails.

“We’re constantly looking at ways in which we can deliver innovative ground improvement, and our experience over the years has allowed us to work directly with manufacturers such as Wirtgen and Hydrema to create our own bespoke and preferred spreading solution.

“As environmental regulations continue to swing in our favour, forcing greater consideration to be given to the maximum re-use of material on-site, we envisage that soil stabilisation will be a mainstream consideration for any UK earthworks project.”

With over 20 years’ experience, we are one of the largest providers of soil stabilisation services in the UK.  Our company provides technical solutions for challenging sites, often utilising the soil stabilisation technique in conjunction with other ground engineering solutions that it offers such as deep soil mixing, vibro compaction and piling.
